The bawdy musical comedy with song by Brooks and book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan, based on the motion picture comedy, will close the Salt Lake City troupe's 2007-08 season in April 2008.
As previously reported on Playbill.com, the PTC season will launch with the world premiere of a revised version of the Lerner and Loewe musical Paint Your Wagon, in what's billed as pre-Broadway tryout. David Rambo penned the new libretto. Orchestrations are by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys).
Paint Your Wagon runs at Pioneer Theatre Company Sept. 28-Oct. 13, 2007.
Paint Your Wagon is presented in association with Christopher Allen, D. Constantine Conti and Larry Spellman.
PTC audiences can also expect the Utah premiere of the 2005 Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Doubt, by John Patrick Shanley (Nov. 2-17), plus Larry Shue's The Foreigner (Dec. 7-22); David Hare's The Vertical Hour (Jan. 11-26, 2008); Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Feb. 15-March 1, 2008); and Ruth and Augustus Goetz's The Heiress (March 14-29, 2008). The Producers will run April 25-May 10, 2008.
