News Vengeance Opens at the Cherry Lane Oct. 9 StageFARM officially launches its 2007-2008 season Oct. 9 with the opening night of Vengeance. Previews at the Cherry Lane Theatre began Oct. 4.

Directed by Alex Kilgore and Ari Edelson, Vengeance features five ten-minute plays penned by Neena Beber, Ron Fitzgerald, Gina Gionfriddo, Julian Sheppard and Francine Volpe. The cast comprises David Wilson Barnes (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), Lisa Joyce (Red Light Winter), Michael Mosley ("Kidnapped"), David Ross (Lucy & The Conquest) and Carrie Shaltz (Drug Buddy).

The limited engagement will run through Oct. 20.

About the theme of Vengeance, stageFARM artistic director Alex Kilgore said in a statement, "We commissioned these plays to explore the theme of vengeance because our country, and our world, are mired in a mindset of retribution."

The show's creative team includes John McDermott (sets), Nicole Pearce (lighting) and John Kilgore (sound). The production stage manager is Jillian Oliver.

Show times are Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM. Tickets are priced $37.50 and are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com. The Cherry Lane Theatre is located in Manhattan at 38 Commerce Street, between Barrow and Bedford Streets.
