Classic Arts News Washington Ballet Begins 2006-07 Kennedy Center Season With Triple Bill of Premieres The Washington Ballet's new season opens tonight at the Kennedy Center with a triple bill of company premieres, including one world premiere.
The brand-new work is oui, non, a collaboration between company artistic director Septime Webre and singer Karen Akers that means to capture "the smoldering culture of a French cabaret." Also on the program are the first Washington Ballet performances of Twyla Tharp's In the Upper Room, with music by Philip Glass, and Jerome Robbins's In the Night, three pas de deux set to Chopin nocturnes.

There will be six performances of this program from tonight through Sunday (October 29) at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater. For more information about this program and the rest of the company's season, visit www.washingtonballet.org.
