Video WATCH: George Salazar Sings Be More Chill’s ‘Michael in the Bathroom’ in New Recording Salazar and composer Joe Iconis take us inside their new album Two-Player Game.

“Performing ‘Michael In the Bathroom’ has been a really insane experience,” says George Salazar, who originated Michael in the Two River Theatre production of Be More Chill and now plays the role Off-Broadway. “Nothing that I've ever done has had an effect on so many people.”

“People have always liked the song, but it wasn't until Georgie started performing it that it really got the reaction that it gets now,” says Joe Iconis, who wrote the latest musical theatre anthem resonating across its young fandom. “Sometimes material and performer—it just connects in a way and something magical happens.”

Released July 27 by Ghostlight Records, Two-Player Game is currently available via physical, streaming, and digital formats. Produced by Ian Kagey and Kurt Deutsch, the album includes songs such as “Broadway, Here I Come!” from Smash, “Michael in the Bathroom” and the titular “Two-Player Game” from Be More Chill, “Tiny Short Little Song,” “The Answer,” and “The Goodbye Song.”

The program was originally presented in concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
