Disney’s High School Musical premiered in 2006 and catapulted Zac Efron and co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and Lucas Grabeel to instant fame. The franchise launched a world tour of the show in 2007, and ten years later, the movie’s original Sharpay and Ryan (Tisdale and Grabeel) reunite for her YouTube series, Music Sessions.

The two duet on a song from the first of the three High School Musical films, “What I’ve Been Looking For.” The two singers are simpatico now, but turns out they “hated each other” on set.

Still, Grabeel has only fond memories of his touring experience. “Going on tour was such a monumental experience,” he says in the video above. “Getting to perform this song that we got to create in the studio... I don’t know about you, but when I recorded this, it was the first time I ever stepped into a recording studio, so getting to see the thousands and thousands of fans who knew the words even if they didn’t know English, we got to create that which is such a crazy gift.”

Hear Grabeel’s arrangement of the tune and more inside details from the two singers in the video.
