Broadway News Watch the Tony-Winning Bandstand Perform on Good Morning America Plus GMA’s Ginger Zee goes backstage with the cast moments before they hit the morning-show stage.

One week after winning the Tony for Best Choreography, Bandstand performed the jiving Act 2 opener “Nobody” live on Good Morning America.

The show stars Corey Cott and Tony nominee Laura Osnes (nominated for a Drama Desk for her performance in Bandstand) as a WWII veteran and war widow in need of healing. They find it through music when Cott’s character Donny forms the Donny Nova Band, a group composed solely of musicians who have served, and he bring Osnes’ character Julia in as the vocalist they need to reach the top.

In the number above, the group embraces their determination to win the radio contest that will take them to New York and, they hope, to Hollywood.

ABC’s Ginger Zee spoke with the cast and three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, who directed and choreographed the show.
