Cynthia Erivo, who won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her work in The Color Purple, recently made an appearance on The Daily Show.

The actress discussed the emotions that the musical revival brings out in the audience: “Sometimes it feels like a rock concert, sometimes it feels like church,” Erivo said. The singing actress also arm-wrestled with host Trevor Noah.
