Encores! News   Watch Vanessa Williams, Carolee Carmello, and Britney Coleman Rehearse for Encores!’ Hey, Look Me Over!

The three travel back to revisit two musicals from the ‘50s and ‘60s: Jamaica and Wildcat.

The cast of Encores! original revue Hey, Look Me Over! met the press January 30 to give a taste of the new show, running February 7–11 at New York City Center.

The show, narrated by Tony nominee Bob Martin (reprising his The Drowsy Chaperone character Man in Chair), explores a variety of musicals not yet produced by Encores!. The production will feature Carolee Carmello, Vanessa Williams, Marc Kudisch, Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, Judy Kuhn, Douglas Sills, Nancy Opel, and more performing numbers from such shows as Mack and Mabel, Sail Away, Greenwillow, George M!, and Milk and Honey.

In the clip above, Carmello and Britney Coleman perform the title song—originally from Cy Coleman, Carolyn Leigh, and N. Richard Nash’s Wildcat. The 1960 Broadway production starred Lucille Ball and Paula Stewart.

Below, Williams sings Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg’s Jamaica showstopper “Push the Button,” originally sung on Broadway in the 1957 production by Lena Horne.

Hey, Look Me Over! is directed by Marc Bruni and features music direction by Encores! Music Director Rob Berman.
