He received his BA in Theatre in 1985 then went on to earn his MFA in Playwriting in 1997. In between, in 1990, he obtained his Bachelor of "Fun Arts" from Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Clown College. Now, the much accredited playwright Scott Marshall Taylor makes his Off-Broadway debut as the Weissberger Theater Group presents his Tamicanfly at the McGinn/Cazale Theater Jan. 17-Feb. 4.

Tamicanfly (pronounced tammy-can-fly) is the name of a racehorse that a blind gambler sees in a vision. The man sees the longshot equus winning at a racetrack all the way across the country. Prompted by the revelation, he recruits the help of his grandson to bet all he's got on this horse.

Ethan McSweeny, who made his Broadway directorial debut with Gore Vidal's The Best Man, helms this production for Taylor. The cast of Tamicanfly features Michael Mastro (Broadway's Side Man), Erica Leehrsen (the Wiccan in "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch II"), Betsy Aidem and Robert Walden (TV's "Lou Grant").

The production team for the WTG production includes Neil Patel (sets), Michael Sharpe (costumes), Howell Binkley (lights) and Guy Sherman (sound). The WTG was the company who brought Warren Leight's Side Man to both OB and Broadway.
