On Monday Oct. 8 Cameron Mackintosh's production of Les Miserables celebrates sixteen years on the London stage, to mark which there will be a special gala performance at the Palace Theatre.
Les Miserables first opened at the Barbican Theatre on 8th October 1985, before moving to the Palace Theatre later that year which has been its home ever since.
Since its premiere in London in 1985, Les Miserables has become a worldwide sensation, having been seen by over 45 million people in 30 countries and in 19 languages. Les Miserables is currently playing at various venues around the world, including New York where it won 8 Tony Awards.
