It will begin performances Dec. 11 prior to an official opening Dec. 16 at the West End's Duchess Theatre, for a run through Feb. 1, 2014. The production, directed and choreographed by Will Tuckett, marks the first time a Royal Opera House production has transferred commercially to the West End. It is being produced by CMP. The story is brought to life through song, music, dance and puppetry. With narration written by former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion and designs by The Quay Brothers and Nicky Gillibrand, the score by Martin Ward draws inspiration from the music of George Butterworth.

Will Kemp, who originated the role of the lead swan in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, will reprise his role as Ratty. Also in the cast are Cris Penfold as Toad, Christopher Akrill as Badger and Clemmie Sveaas as Mole.  Other members of the company include Ewan Wardrop, Paul James Rooney, Kayleigh Gore, Connor Dowling, Kirsty Mather, Anna Martine, Jo Meredith and Aron Wild.
