What Would Incoming Waitress Star Sara Bareilles Name Her Opening Night Pie? | Playbill

Video What Would Incoming Waitress Star Sara Bareilles Name Her Opening Night Pie? The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and her new co-stars put all their feelings into a pie for Playbill.

Sara Bareilles, Will Swenson, and Chris Diamantopoulos will take their first bows in Waitress on Broadway March 31. At a recent press event, the three stars embraced their inner Jenna—the musical’s pie-baking heroine—to come up with a pie that captures how they feel about joining the show. Take a look at what they had to say above.

Pop star Bareilles, who earned Tony and Grammy Award nominations for composing the score, will play Jenna—the role originated by Tony winner Jessie Mueller. Swenson and Diamantopolos take on the roles of Jenna’s abusive husband Earl and her steamy doctor Dr. Pomatter, respectively.
Waitress opened officially at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre March 24, 2016.
