Welcome to What's the Buzz, Andrea Prince's weekly column in which you can find out the latest scoop on what theatre fans across North America are talking about in the Playbill On-Line chat room on America Online.

This week our Playbill Chat room has been very busy with so many new and fresh topics. They range from "Who will be the next Norma in Sunset Boulevard?" to "What play or musical should my high school put on?" to "HELP! I need an audition piece!".

With the holidays right around the corner people have also been stopping in to talk about the hottest shows on Broadway right now so they can plan their trips and buy their tickets. With the opening of many great shows this past few weeks Broadway is now hotter than it ever was. With shows such as Chicago with Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth, Joel Grey, and James Naughton, Once Upon a Mattress with Sarah Jessica Parker, and God Said "Ha! "with Julia Sweeney, the ever-famous Pat from "Saturday Night Live," there are so many different types of shows to choose from and that's not even half the list.

Playbill members have also been busy inquiring about the upcoming season of shows that will bombard the Broadway scene so they will know what to expect and when to start buying their tickets. Some of these new shows are Whistle Down the Wind with Davis Gaines and Irene Malloy that is scheduled to open April 17, Candide with Jim Dale, and Andrea Martin which opens April 29, Jekyll and Hyde with Linda Eder, Robert Cuccioli, and Christiane Noll opening on April 28, and of course Titanic the Musical that will begin on April 10, 1997.

Our members come into Playbill Chat every night and offer their ideas, advice, comments, and questions for other members. Stop by and let us know who you think the next Norma will be. Or maybe you know of a good musical for a high school to put on. How about telling us your thoughts about which of these shows will sink or swim? And if you just feel like chatting about theatre then come right on in. Please join us any night of the week in the Playbill chat room on America Online to discuss these topics and others. Use Keyword: Playbill and click on the Playbill Chat button. My screen name is PlaybillOL. I hope to see you there.
