The new play is set in the world of the literary elite where a young woman copes with the sudden success of her husband's novel. The workshop run is July 9-11 in the Susan Stein Shiva Theater.

In addition to "Charlie's Angels," Liu is known as one of the murderous characters in the two-part Quentin Tarantino film "Kill Bill, Vols. 1 and 2," and for her role in the television series "Ally McBeal." In a theatrical vein, she essayed the cameo role of "Go to Hell Kitty" in the Rob Marshall musical film "Chicago."

Playwright Helm is Liu's romantic partner. The actress recently announced her plans to marry the writer.

Liu will be surrounded by a group of legitimate stage stalwarts, including Justin Kirk (Love! Valour! Compassion!, Ten Unknowns), John Pankow (Barbra's Wedding), Gerry Becker (Death Defying Acts), Zach Grenier (A Question of Mercy), Zak Orth (Misalliance) and Tina Benko. David Petrarca directs.
