Variety reports that the science fiction miniseries, entitled "Stream," will debut Jan. 15, 2009. Goldberg has been cast as Jodi, who is "trying to come to terms with her lifelong fears," according to the industry paper. "Stream" will air in six weekly segment that are five minutes apiece. The series will be available online and through video-on-demand.

Comcast, Sony Pictures Television and Lionsgate created Fearnet.com. The video-on-demand content is available from Comcast, Time Warner and Cox Cable.

An Academy Award-winning actress, Whoopi Goldberg has appeared on Broadway in Xanadu, Whoopi, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (which she co-produced). In addition to earning a Grammy and Golden Globe Award, Goldberg is a Tony-winning producer of 2002's Thoroughly Modern Millie.
