News Will Denzel Washington Star in Broadway Revival of A Raisin in the Sun? Denzel Washington, who won the 2010 Tony Award for his performance in Fences, may reunite with Fences director and producer, Kenny Leon and Scott Rudin, respectively, for a Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.

According to Showbiz411.com, the actor would play Walter Lee Younger in the classic Lorraine Hansberry drama, which was last seen on Broadway in 2004 starring Sean Combs.

Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose (Caroline, Or Change) and Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo ("Hotel Rwanda") are rumored to co-star in the project, which will feature direction by Tony nominee Leon (Stick Fly, The Mountaintop, Fences).

Washington has also been seen on Broadway in Julius Caesar and Checkmates.

No official announcement about a Raisin in the Sun revival has been made.
