Franco ("Milk," "Howl," "Spider-Man") sat down with host Stephen Colbert to speak about his upcoming film "Oz the Great and Powerful," which hits theatres March 8.

When Colbert asked if Franco also did theatre, the actor replied, "I'm going to. We're going to do Of Mice and Men on Broadway. There's a character Slim, we haven't cast it yet. You could do it," he teased Colbert.

Franco stated that he will play the role of George, a drifter, who along with his mentally-challenged friend Lennie, seek out work as field laborers during the Great Depression.

Based on his 1937 novel of the same title, Steinbeck penned the stage adaptation that premiered on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre the same year it was released. It was revived in 1974.
