The producers, led by Jeffrey Richards (All the Way, starring "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston; Speed-the-Plow, starring Moss in 2008), are in negotiations with Moss to play Heidi in the first Broadway revival of Wasserstein's play since it closed in 1990.
The Times also reports that Richards is eyeing Pam MacKinnon, who won a 2013 Tony Award for his revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, to direct and that the revival depends on additional casting, Moss' schedule and theatre availability.
The production is aiming for a late winter or spring 2015 opening, around the time "Mad Men" will conclude on AMC.
In The Heidi Chronicles, a feminist art historian and her friends — male and female, gay and straight — mature from the 1960s-80s as they search for political, professional and personal fulfillment.
Richards' producing office has not yet responded to Playbill.com's request for comment.
