News Williamstown Presents Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice Aug. 4-6 Williamstown Theatre Festival's non-Equity company gets its moment in the spotlight Aug. 4-6 with a production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice. Meredith McDonough directs on the Nikos Stage.

Eurydice is Ruhl’s retelling of the ancient Greek myth, told from the point of view of Eurydice. "Eurydice’s true love is the most amazing musician in the world," according to press materials. "On her wedding day, she encounters an interesting, nasty man and finds herself tumbling into an underworld of forgetfulness and discovery." Ruhl's other plays include Passion Play, Melancholy Play, Late, Orlando, and Chekhov: Shorts. Meredith McDonough is this year’s recipient of the Boris Sagal Fellowship which is awarded annually to "an emerging director making the transition to a professional career." The Fellowship was created by Marge Champion and named for her late husband.
