PlayBlog "Winnie the Pooh," With Music by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Arrives July 15; Watch the Trailer (Video) Tony Award winner Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon) and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez have written some tunes for the all-new Disney animated feature, "Winnie the Pooh, " released in theatres July 15.


Seven new songs by Lopez and Anderson-Lopez (who share music and lyric credit) are included in the film and are orchestrated by Doug Besterman (Sister Act, How to Succeed…, Young Frankenstein, Damn Yankees).

Anderson-Lopez also voices the character of Kanga in the film, while her husband credits himself with making the sounds for Pooh's tummy—a very crucial element of "Winnie the Pooh."

"Winnie the Pooh" is directed by Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall. The film is based on characters — Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Christopher Robin and others from deep in The Hundred Acre Wood — and includes the voices of Jim Cummings (Pooh/Tigger), John Cleese (Narrator), Craig Ferguson (Owl), Tom Kenny (Rabbit), Bud Luckey (Eeyore), Travis Oates (Piglet) and Jack Boulter (Christopher Robin).
