News Women's Lecture Series, "Smart Talk" To Feature Elaine Stritch, Whoopi Goldberg and Susan Sarandon Elaine Stritch, Whoopi Goldberg and Susan Sarandon are all part of the "Smart Talk Women's Lecture Series," which will be presented at New Jersey's State Theatre next year.

Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon kicks off the five-part lecture series, which is designed to "inspire, challenge and enlighten anyone with a strong desire to learn from the personal experiences of accomplished and distinguished women." "Susan Sarandon: Hollywood Gold" will be offered Jan. 19, 2004 at 8 PM. Others in the series include Mariane Pearl (Feb. 9), Elaine Stritch (March 22), Jennifer Boylan (April 20) and Whoopi Goldberg (May 5). Created 12 years ago, the "Smart Talk" series has been presented throughout the country. Previous speakers include Dame Julie Andrews, Maya Angelou, Coretta Scott King, Gloria Steinem and The Duchess of York.
