Brownell, who has spent several seasons as a writer on the HBO series "Hung," penned the new play that is directed by Evan Cabnet (The Dream of the Burning Boy). All-American will officially open Nov. 7 for a run through Nov. 19.

"Hung" series regular Rebecca Creskoff,  also seen on Broadway in Losing Louie, is part of a cast that also includes Meredith Florenza (A Behanding in Spokane, Pal Joey), newcomer Brock Harris, Sarah Steele (Speech and Debate, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie), C.J. Wilson (Henry IV) and Harry Zittel (Privilege, A Boy's Life).

According to LCT3, "All-American is the story of a modern American family: suburban dad and former NFL star Mike Slattery (Wilson) works hard to make his daughter Katie (Forlenza) the new star quarterback at her new school while ignoring her brainy twin brother Aaron (Zittel). But Katie isn’t sure she wants to keep playing and Mike’s wife Beth (Creskoff) isn’t sure she wants to keep playing along."

The production has set design by Lee Savage, costume design by Jessica Wegener Shay, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff.

Brownell's play Smart Cookie was the winner of the 2008 Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition and subsequently premiered at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Her play Good Girl was produced at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. Visit LincolnCenterTheater.
