News Zanna's Rodriguez is Culture Maven for Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" Jai Rodriguez — recently of Zanna, Don't! fame — will star in a new series for the Bravo network.

Entitled "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," the "reality series" debuts July 15 at 10 PM ET with two back-to-back hour-long programs. The program — a makeover program with a twist — features five gay men who offer style advice to appearance-challenged straight men. According to the Associated Press, Rodriguez will be joined by food and wine expert Ted Allen, designer Thom Filicia, "grooming guru" Kyan Douglas and fashion savant Carson Kressley. "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" was created by David Collins, who — while visiting a Boston gallery — overhead a woman unfavorably comparing her schlubby husband to three fab-looking gay men. The gay men overheard as well and offered the woman advice for her spouse. Collins told AP, "As I left with my buddy, I jokingly said, 'That was kind of the queer eye for the straight guy.' These guys swooped in there and helped this man out."

Rodriguez, who played the title role in Zanna, Don't!, is billed as the TV program's culture maven. The actor's other theatre credits include the Broadway company of Rent and Off-Broadway's Spinning Into Butter. His screen credits number "The New Guy" and "All My Children," and his first single is titled "Love Is Good."
