News   Zoe Kazan Will Star in Lena Dunham's New HBO Pilot
Deadline reports that Zoe Kazan has replaced Lisa Joyce as the titular character in "Max," a new HBO comedy pilot written by Murray Miller and directed by Lena Dunham.

"Max" is described as "a raucous comedy set in 1963 about the struggles of second-wave feminism, centered on an ambitious magazine writer, Maxine Woodruff, looking for liberation. Maxine is an enthusiastic, if misguided, low-level magazine employee who stumbles into the forefront of a civil rights movement both she and the world may not be ready for."

Lisa Joyce will focus on her other HBO comedy pilot, "Insecure," which was picked up to series.

Dunham, Miller, Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress will executive produce "Max."

A premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.
