This was a picture of me at my preschool Halloween party, so I was four years old! My mom has always been a sucker for TV Land classics, so I was Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie." I vividly remember giving some fierce choreography to "Monster Mash" at our dance party and reaaaally over doing it on the candy corn!

This is me at age 11… I went as Aladdin. (Eat your heart out, Adam Jacobs!) In Colorado, it is not unusual for it to it to be freezing and for it to snow on Halloween. Hence, the turtleneck. Maybe it was the lack of insulation provided by those satin purple pants, but I remember this year being particularly cold.

I'm six years old in this picture, and I guess I decided to be a witch for Halloween. This was one of those horrible plastic masks from the 80s that cut your eyelids when you had it on. But, I wore it for the candy! I must be putting a hex on a baseball team because I'm stirring my plastic cauldron with a baseball bat. Also, notice the jeans and sensible sneakers under my cape. Hey, it was cold that October, and I had a lot of walking to do. Ah the 80s.

I have no recollection of this Halloween, and in fact, I don't think I've seen this picture in years! My mom dug it up for me, and my dad scanned it (thanks, parents!). I was five years old and apparently very insistent that I wanted to be a pink bride. Not just a bride. A PINK one. My mom wore a wreath of flowers in her hair when she married my dad, so I assume that's why I wanted a wreath, too! And my mom sewed this costume for me. She did that for many Halloweens in a row.

Kindergarten… I adored my ballet and tap classes when I was little, so I insisted on wearing my recital costumes for Halloween. More economical for my parents as well! I would curtsy as my trick to get a treat. My favorite candy? Reese's peanut butter cups and Hershey's kisses. To this day! In the late 60s in northern New Jersey, parents didn't worry as much about kids being unsafe trick or treating. On our small street, all the neighbors knew each other, all doors were open, and all houses were decorated.

My mom asked me what I wanted to be for Halloween, and I said a ballerina, so she put me in the "hand me down" costume that I put on every day after ballet class to practice in, but made sure to top it off with some stage makeup and a ballet bun.

I love Halloween! My mom was always so good about costumes for us and would hand-make them all! This picture is of my sister Charna and I dressed as a bunny and a bear! I think I was three! All my best memories of Halloween are with her. She would take care of me and help me with my candy bag, and at the end of the night, we would sort out candy and barter for the "good stuff." She was quite the negotiator. That was the best part of the holiday for me.

Halloween 2008, three years old as a Poodle with younger sister Madison at one-and-a-half years old as a Rabbit. It was a tradition on Halloween to trick or treat with our "Framily" the Brinks, and this was the last year we were able to do it because they moved away to Europe. They just moved back a couple years ago, and we were able to do it again in 2014. It's so much fun being with them, and we really appreciate the time spent with them.

I didn't want anyone holding my hand when crossing the street; they had to hold my hook. I made everyone believe my hook was real and walked around trying to do a pirate accent all day! I guess I started acting when I was really little!

Teal Wicks (Finding Neverland) I don't know how old I am in this...6ish?? As you can see I'm a pretty pretty princess. I loved makeup and was so excited to wear it. Thankfully my mom put it on me instead of me doing it myself. And I remember wearing those white tights all the time... I probably kicked my shoes off early in the night and just ran around barefoot.

This photo was taken when I was in Kindergarten! There was a Halloween parade at Thomas Fitzwater Elementary School, and I walked in the parade every year through 5th grade. My butterfly costume was handmade by my Mom-Mom to be worn by my Aunt Lisa when she was that age. A Halloween family heirloom! Halloween is a special holiday for my family. It was my Mom-Mom's favorite holiday, and is my Mom's favorite still to this day! Oh yeah, annnnnnd I'm obsessed with butterflies. My spirit animal!
