PHOTO EXCLUSIVE: Backstage at the Marriott Theatre With George Andrew Wolff of Cats
Stage actor George Andrew Wolff is currently in Marriott Theatre’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. Armed with a camera, Wolff brings us backstage for an insider's view.
Welcome to Cats at the Marriott Theatre!
This is me, George Andrew Wolff. I Play Gus, Growltiger and Bustopher Jones.
My dressing room, also know as the ICEBOX- and I am okay with that! This is Gus’ crazy wig.
All the necessities tucked away in the upper cabinet. A nice pink lady apple for intermission, some dried edamame, ibuprofen, Emergen-C, pretzels, and, oh yes, always fresh ground coffee. I may have a coffee pot in my dressing room.
Broadway star Jessie Mueller, and friend to many of us here at her old stomping grounds, left behind a pair of sensible grey fingerless gloves that Gus the Theatre Cat wears in Act 2. They are BEAUTIFUL, and I am happy to wear them.
And, sometimes you ask Grizabella (the amazing Heidi Kettenring) to snap a picture of you getting into your makeup.
This magical, Mister Mistoffelees (Sagiya Eugene Peabody) stretches and stretches and soars through the air. Magical, indeed.
“He’s got Agnes Moorhead eyes” is the tune Old Deuteronomy (Matthew R. Jones) sings each day as he gets his face on.
Sometimes, even Jellicle cats are forgetful. Nothing is worse than having to "unpeel" yourself from a unitard to put on your mic or your tail.
Patrick Keefe (Quaxo) and Ellen Green (Victoria) are curious cats, ready to start Act 1.
