Last month Lauren Kennedy and Nikka Graff Lanzarone introduced Into the Woods veteran "Twan Baker," their co-star in the Westport-Baltimore production of the Sondheim-Lapine musical. There lived a young Broadway star/photographer… (more than anything)
Her quirky-brunette-sidekick… (more than life)
A troublemaking, half-drunk, overly-ambitious baby… (more than jewels)
And their friends… (I wish)
They traveled to Baltimore to open a show (festival).
They began tech.
They pretended they were doing <i>A Chorus Line.</i>
They were judged by their choreographer, Seán Curran.
Jeffry Denman does some serious pointing.
Cheryl Stern, Justin Scott Brown, and Dana Steingold make the finale of Act I zing!
Britney Coleman KILLS it with her gestures.
We start rehearsing in costume…
Twan, of course, starts stealing the hats. He’s particularly fond of Jenny’s boater.
Dana and Jeffry rehearse “I Know Things Now.”
Jeffry, Eleni Delopolous, Britney, Danielle Ferland, and Bob Lenzi celebrate our first preview in Baltimore!

Lauren takes parking to a whole new level. She was REALLY excited about getting a spot in front of the building, okay?

Dana BEGGED to use this basket Easter Sunday. It was vetoed by stage management.

There lived the same young Broadway star/photographer… (more than anything)
The same quirky-brunette sidekick… (more than life)
The same troublemaking baby…(more than footmen)
(who, incidentally, is the only person in the show with an understudy)
Wait- Twan called OUT?!!?!!?
And the same friends…
…who decided it might be a good idea to take the same show to the Westport Country Playhouse.
Some similar things happened along the way.
They had a sitzprobe.
There was an incredible talkback with Danielle, Joanna Gleason, and Chip Zien.
Jeffry started the show all over again.
Dana waits to begin.
Justin implores the cow to “squeeze, pal.”
Lauren exits, having successfully made it through the veggie rap!
Jeremy practices his best Mysterious Man Scary Face.
Bob Lenzi ascends the stairs as only a prince moving in slow motion can.
Danielle and Justin pause backstage.
Lauren gets in on the action.
Dana gives Eleni some makeup tips. Subtle, right?
Post-makeup, Eleni enjoys some of the food left over from a donor event. Again, subtle.
Jeffry touches up his wig to make sure the lace is laying correctly.
Cheryl makes sure she’s hydrated just before places.
Dana got this serape free from a bar on Cinco de Mayo. Ask her about it sometime, it’s hilarious. There is also a sombrero to finish off the outfit, but she didn’t want to mess up her hair.
Jeremy, as the steward, practices packing for the long journey through the woods…
…making sure that nobody catches him with the shoes.
Britney, we aren’t using Sleeping Beauty in this production! Wake up!
