Jason Robert Brown, the young composer-lyricist making is Broadway debut with Parade, has won a Best Score Tony Award.
He previously wrote Songs for a New World, directed by Daisy Prince at the WPA Theatre Off-Broadway. Both Parade and Songs for a New World are on CD.
Brown is also an arranger and orchestrator whose work is heard in A New Brain, jon & jen, Dinah Was and Yoko Ono's New York Rock.
Brown and collaborator Alfred Uhry told the Tony audience Parade will have a tour in summer 2000, starting in Atlanta.
