The one-night-only event brings together writers, directors and actors who must conceive, write and rehearse six short plays within the span of 24 hours in time for an 8 PM public performance Nov. 12. The plays are interspersed with six musical acts. Montblanc sponsors the event.

Additional participating actors include Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Brooklyn Decker, Carla Gugino, Diane Neal, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Fisher Stevens, Kathy Najimy, Leslie Bibb, Michael Kenneth Williams, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rachel Dratch, Sam Rockwell and Zosia Mamet.

Writers for the event include Adam Bock (The Receptionist, The Drunken City), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Things We Want, Knickerbocker), Rachel Axler ("The Daily Show," "New Girl") and Theresa Rebeck ("Smash," Dead Accounts).

The works will be directed by Derek Cianfrance, Ari Edelson, Andy Fickman, Josie Rourke, Leigh Silverman and Thomas Kail.

The event benefits Urban Arts Partnership, a non-profit organization that advances the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students through arts-integrated education programs to close the achievement gap. Here's how the annual event works. The process begins at 10 PM on Nov. 11, when the entire team of actors, playwrights, directors and production staff gather at the American Airlines Theatre. Each cast member shares a costume, a prop, special skills and "stage desires" to their respective writers. The playwrights must then create a ten-minute play by 7 AM the following day in order to allow the directors and cast time to rehearse the piece for the public presentation that evening.

The American Airlines Theatre is located at 227 West 42nd Street. Tickets are available by visiting Smarttix or by phoning (212) 868-4444.
