News $25 Front-Row Tickets Available for Wicked Opening Night The eagerly awaited new musical from Stephen Schwartz, Wicked, officially opens at the Gershwin theatre Oct. 30. Thirty-six tickets for the show's opening night are being set aside for lucky winners of a lottery to be held that day.

Those who would like to win a chance at the $25 front-row tickets should arrive at the theatre (222 West 51st Street) by 4 PM to sign in. The drawing will be held at 4:30 PM. There is a limit of two tickets per person, and tickets must be purchased in cash.

Wicked co-stars Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda, the Good Witch and former Renter Idina Menzel as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The cast also includes Tony and Academy Award winner Joel Grey as The Wizard, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, Christopher Fitzgerald as Boq and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamand.

Directed by Joe Mantello — a 2003 Tony Award winner for last season’s Take Me OutWicked features choreography by Wayne Cilento.
