Classic Arts News 5 Browns to Appear at Rose Bowl on July 4 The 5 Browns will make their California debut on July 4, performing at an Independence Day concert at Southern California's famous Rose Bowl, their record label Sony BMG announced.
The concert, titled "AmericaFest," will also feature the Pasadena Pops, conducted by Rachael Worby, and a display of fireworks. A portion of the proceeds will go to support the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization created by the cable channel that funds music programs in schools.

The 5 Browns is made up of five piano-playing Brown siblings—Desirae, Ryan, Melody, Gregory, and Deondra—all of whom attended the Juilliard School. Their eponymous debut spent much of 2005 at or near the top of the Billboard classical chart; their second album, No Boundaries, has been at number one on the chart since its release in April.

No Boundaries includes transcriptions for five pianos well as duos and trios featuring various combinations of the siblings. The repertoire include Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Stravinsky's The Firebird, and a medley of the "Simple Gifts" sections from Copland's Appalachian Spring and the "Going Home" section from Dvoršk's Ninth Symphony ("From the New World").

Tickets for the Rose Bowl concert are $10 and are available through Tickermaster.
