Tony Awards 69th Annual Tony Awards Broadcast Honored With Writers Guild Nomination On Dec. 3, the Writers Guild nominated the 69th Annual Tony Awards broadcast and writer Dave Boone with a nomination in the Comedy/Variety – Music, Awards Tributes – Specials category. Special Material was written by Adam Goldman and Carol Leife.
The Tony Award

Boone won a Writers Guild Award in 2012 for the 66th Annual Tony Awards – with special material by Paul Greenberg – in the same category.

Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League and Heather Hitchens, President of the American Theater Wing, issued a statement saying, "Dave and his team work around the clock to create a dynamic and compelling script for both the show’s host and the diverse group of presenters. We are extremely proud of him and the entire production team and are honored by this nomination."

The 2016 Writers Guild Awards will be announced Feb. 13, 2016 at ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.

The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on June 12, 2016, at 8pm ET from the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Nominations will be announced on May 3.
