News 92nd Street Y to Welcome Cyndi Lauper, Scott Frankel, Michael Korie and More Grammy Award-winning Kinky Boots songwriter Cyndi Lauper, as well as Far From Heaven songwriters Scott Frankel and Michael Korie will appear at the 92 Street Y and the 92YTribeca in the coming months.

On Sept. 10 at 7:30 PM at the 92YTribeca, Playwrights Horizons will bring together artists represented in its upcoming season, who will discuss bringing new works to the stage. They include Frankel and Korie and their collaborator Richard Greenberg, as well as Lisa D'Amour (Detroit), Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale), Amy Herzog (The Great God Pan), Annie Baker (The Flick) and Tanya Barfield (The Call).

The 92YTribeca will host a discussion on the life and works of American composer Irving Berlin Sept. 13 at 3 PM with "Irving Berlin's American Musical Theater" author Jeffrey Magee. The cast of Old Jews Telling Jokes will also appear at the 92YTribeca on Sept. 14 at 12 PM.

Lauper will appear with Valerie Smaldone to discuss her new book "Cyndi Lauper: A Memoir" on Sept. 19 at 8 PM at the 92 Street Y. Her musical Kinky Boots will debut in Chicago this fall prior to a 2013 Broadway arrival.

Comedian Judy Gold will appear at the 92nd Street Y on Sept. 20 at 8 PM; and the 92YTribeca will welcome Peter Bogdanovich on Sept. 21 at noon to discuss the life and influence of Stella Adler.

On Oct. 17 at noon at the 92YTribeca, New York Times's theatre critic Ben Brantley will offer a discussion of the most important musicals of the past several decades, touching on "legendary divas, directors, lyricists and choreographers, right up to The Book of Mormon." The 92YTribeca will bring together musician Chris Coogan and musicologist Carla Innerfield for "On the Music of Oscar Hammerstein II" Nov. 14 at noon. Director Sam Gold and poet-translator Anne Carson will unite for a staged reading of her new adaptation of Sophocles' Antigonick Nov. 19 at 8 PM at the 92nd Street Y.
