A Spanish adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Cuento de Navidad) opened Nov. 30 at Mexico City's Foro 11 Escenaria and will run through Dec. 21. This is the third consecutive year that this production is staged for the holiday season in Mexico. Heading a cast of 25 is Gustavo Rojo as Scrooge. Rojo has starred in musicals like Mame, Daddy Long Legs, Cabaret and La Cage Aux Folles. Alfonso Iturralde, Raquel Morell, Gibrann and Analy are also in the cast of this production of Dickens' classic story which features background music by Mozart, Offenbach and Strauss.

Adapted, directed and produced by Karina Duprez, A Christmas Carol runs Dec. 18 at 8PM, Dec. 19 and Dec. 20 at 6PM & 8PM and Dec. 21 at 4PM & 6PM. Tickets ($70 Mexican Pesos) are available at the box office of the Foro 11 Escenaria, which is located at Av. San Jeronimo 252, El Pedregal, Mexico City. For information call (52-5) 616-0511.
