News A COVER STORY: Wicked Playbill Will Be Greenified for 10th Anniversary on Broadway; Cover Revealed The long-running hit musical Wicked is approaching its tenth anniversary on Broadway, and in celebration of the monumental milestone, Playbill is going green.

On the Oct. 30, 2013, performance at 7 PM — which marks the tenth anniversary of Wicked's opening night at the George Gershwin Theatre — ushers will distribute a "greenified" edition of the Playbill, the second time the Playbill banner has been changed to green (green Playbills were given out on Wicked's fifth anniversary) and the third time the yellow banner has been changed altered to honor a Broadway show.

When the Tony Award-nominated musical Mamma Mia! celebrated its tenth birthday in October 2011, its Playbill was decked out it royal blue. (Read more about the show's tenth anniversary here.)

The special Wicked Playbill will be available exclusively at the Playbill Store.

Wicked is the untold story of the Witches of Oz. The Broadway musical was nominated for ten 2004 Tony Awards and took home three, including Best Scenic Design (Eugene Lee), Best Costume Design (Susan Hilferty) and Best Actress in a Musical (Idina Menzel).

Wicked features a Tony-nominated score by Stephen Schwartz and a Tony-nominated book by Winnie Holzman and is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West."
