Classic Arts News ABT Dancer Irina Dvorovenko Takes Maternity Leave Irina Dvorovenko, a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, will begin maternity leave now that she has finished her scheduled fall performances at City Center, ABT announced.
The dancer, who is married to ABT principal Maxim Beloserkovsky, is expecting a child in March 2005.

Born and trained in the Ukraine, Dvorovenko joined ABT in 1996; she has been a principal dancer since 2000. In this season's repertory, she danced in Kevin McKenzie's pas de deux from Act II of Swan Lake.

She will miss the company's national tour, which includes stops in Texas, Ohio, Chicago, and Washington, D.C, and the 2005 Metropolitan Opera House season, but plans to resume dancing next September.
