News After a Starry Earlier Party, Rent Marks 10 Years on Broadway April 29 Audiences at Broadway's Rent April 29 will be a part of history.

The day marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Tony Award-winning (and Pulitzer Prize-honored) rock musical by Jonathan Larson. The company at the Nederlander Theatre will celebrate backstage, and audiences at the 8 PM performance will be made aware of the milestone with a note in their Playbills. There is also a 2 PM performance.

The anniversary was celebrated at the Nederlander April 24 with a benefit concert performance that reunited the original 1996 Broadway cast.

The cast of the milestone performances Saturday includes Tim Howar as Roger; Matt Caplan as Mark; Destan Owens as Tom Collins; D'Monroe as Benny; Kenna J. Ramsey as Joanne; Justin Johnston as Angel; Antonique Smith as Mimi; Ava Gaudet as Maureen; Haven Burton as Mark's mom and others; Marcus Paul James as Christmas caroler, Mr. Jefferson and others; Frenchie Davis as Mrs. Jefferson, woman with bags and others; Luther Creek as Gordon, the man, Mr. Grey and others; Robin De Jesús as Steve, man with squeegee, a waiter and others; Shaun Earl as Paul, a cop and others; Mayumi Ando as Alexi Darling, Roger's mom and others; with Justin Brill, Owen Johnston II; Philip Dorian McAdoo; Crystal Monée Hall, Moeisha McGill; Karmine Alers.

Michael Greif directed Rent, Tim Weil is its music supervisor.
