News After Party to Welcome Composer Blumenkrantz Nov. 3 The After Party, billed as "an informal social gathering for the theatrically inclined," will continue Nov. 3 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Jeff Blumenkrantz, who received a Tony nomination for his contributions to the score of Urban Cowboy, will be the evening's special guest. Blumenkrantz is scheduled to perform a few of his own compositions. Hosted by Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, "The After Party" features Ray Fellman at the piano. Amateurs and professionals are invited to take turns at the open mic. The "Party" begins at 10:30 PM and continues to 2 AM.

In addition to Urban Cowboy, The Musical, Blumenkrantz contributed a song to Audra McDonald's "Seven Deadly Sins" concert at Carnegie Hall as well as a tune to the Transport Group's production of The Audience. His works have been performed by McDonald, Megan Mullally and Judy Kuhn. As an actor, Blumenkrantz appeared in the Broadway productions of Into the Woods, 3 Penny Opera, Damn Yankees, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and A Class Act. Blumenkrantz's website, located at www.jeffblumenkrantz.com, currently offers vocals by several theatre stars, including Judy Blazer ("It'll Work for You"), Victoria Clark ("I Won't Mind") and Sally Wilfert ("I'm Free").

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street. There is no cover charge or minimum for "The After Party."
