Presenters have been announced for The Chita Rivera Awards, which will be presented May 19 at The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Tony winners Ann Reinking (Chicago, Dancin') and Ben Vereen (Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin) will co-host the ceremony.
Presenters will include Chita Rivera herself, Andy Blankenbuehler, Camille A. Brown, Ariana DeBose, Luann de Lesseps, Micaela Diamond, Damon J. Gillespie, Savion Glover, Marilu Henner, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Tiler Peck, Lee Roy Reams, Michael Riedel, Ethan Slater, Mary Testa, and Richard Thomas.
Attendees can also expect performances from The Radio City Rockettes as well as the casts of Broadway’s Ain't Too Proud; Kiss Me, Kate; The Prom; and Smokey Joe's Café.
The mission of the Chita Rivera Awards is to celebrate dance and choreographic excellence, preserve notable dance history, recognize past, present and future talents, while promoting high standards in dance education and investing in the next generation.
