News Alan Ayckbourn's Life of Riley to Tour U.K. in Spring Life of Riley, the newest (and 74th) play by acclaimed British playwright Alan Ayckbourn, will tour the U.K. in spring 2011.

Ayckbourn will also direct the production, which is being presented by The Stephen Joseph Theatre Company, who premiered the play in September in Scarborough, England. Casting and a further creative team will be announced. According to press notes, "With a few months of his life remaining, George Riley’s closest friends remember with love, nostalgia or occasional bursts of downright fury, how deeply he has affected all their past lives. George, though, is plotting one last final farewell which threatens to upset all their future lives. What exactly is the eccentric maverick Riley playing at?"

The current tour schedule for Life of Riley follows:
Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Jan. 26 – Feb. 5
Oxford Playhouse, Feb. 7 – 12
Bath Theatre Royal, Feb. 14 – 19
Cambridge Arts Theatre, Feb. 28 – March 5
Malvern Theatres, March 7-12
Theatre Royal Brighton, March 14-19
Richmond Theatre, March 21-26
Theatre Royal Windsor, March 28 – April 2

Some of Ayckbourn's many plays include My Wonderful Day, Absurd Person Singular, The Norman Conquests, Bedroom Farce and with Andrew Lloyd Webber, the musical By Jeeves. He received a special 2010 Tony Award for lifetime achievement.
