Angel Reapers, which is playing a host of regional stops before arriving in New York City, will also be seen as part of ArtsEmerson's programming Nov. 15-20 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston.

Clarke directs and choreographs the 80-minute work, which has a book by Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy, Parade, The Last Night of Ballyhoo). The piece takes historical inspiration from the life of Shakers founder Ann Lee (known as Mother Ann).

It is described as "a stirring and dramatic blend of shaker songs, modern dance, and theatre about forbidden sex and unchanneled lust in New England’s 18th century Shaker community."

The cast includes Sophie Bortolussi, Asli Bulbul, Patrick Corbin, Lindsey Dietz Marchant, Birgit Huppuch, Gabrielle Malone, Peter Musante, Luke Murphy, Andrew Robinson, Whitney V. Hunter and Isadora Wolfe.

Designing Angel Reapers are Christopher Akerlin (lighting design), Donna Zakowska (costume design), Michael Faba (technical director) and Richard Armstrong (vocal coach). Arthur Solari is musical director.

Angel Reapers will arrive in New York City at the Joyce Theatre Nov. 29-Dec. 11. Visit Joyce.org.
