West Side Story, which was originally directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, has a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
The cast is headed by Ali Ewoldt (Broadway's Les Miserables) as Maria, Ryan Vasquez as Tony, Shina Ann Morris (Annie, Nice Work If You Can Get It) as Anita, Kevin Munhall (Anything Goes) as Riff and Michael Graceffa as Bernardo.
Also featured are Timothy Robu (Schrank), Charles Parker (Doc), J. Bailey Burcham (Krupke) and Robert Ariza (Chino).
Music Theatre Wichita, a not-for-profit arts organization in the state of Kansas, produces five Broadway-scale musical productions each summer. While producing its musicals, Music Theatre simultaneously conducts a specialized training program, geared to helping young Midwesterners prepare for professional careers.
