Nepotism makes the world go round — or at least, the Berkeley Repertory Theatre production of Nocturne. But not even family jobs last forever.

The Adam Rapp play, which stars his brother, Anthony of Rent fame, ends its West Coast premiere Nov. 11. Mark Brokaw (Lobby Hero, Music from a Sparkling Planet) directs.

Nocturne follows the story of a young man struggling to put his life back together after accidentally killing his sister. After the incident, he flees his suburban life for New York City's Lower East Side working on writing to get him through it, but he knows he must return home and face the music.

Anthony is best known for creating the role of Mark in Rent, a role he played Off-Broadway, on Broadway, in Chicago and London. His other credits include the title role in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, "Adventures in Babysitting," "Six Degrees of Separation" and a new solo CD, "Look Around."

Adam is the author of Ghosts in the Cottonwoods , Trueblinka, Blackbird and Animals and Plants. Nocturne won Boston's Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding New Script and Best New Play from the Independent Reviewers of New England. Nocturne began performances Oct. 11.
