Classic Arts News American Idol Finalist John Stevens Debuts on Billboard Jazz Chart Red, the debut album from onetime American Idol contestant John Stevens, made its first appearance on the Billboard jazz chart this week at number five.
Stevens, a Sinatraesque crooner, finished sixth in the spring 2004 edition of the Fox television show. His first album includes such standards as "All of Me," "Come Fly With Me," and "It Had to Be You."

Singer Michael Bubl_'s It's Time topped the chart for the 21st week, with Madeleine Peyroux's Careless Love in the number-two spot.

Also debuting on the chart was a compilation titled The Most Relaxing Jazz Piano Music in the Universe at number 19.

Vocalist Lizz Wright's Dreaming Wide Awake remained at the top of the contemporary-jazz chart.
