News An American in Paris Will Get a Cast Album The music of the Gershwin brothers apparently retains its magic. It was announced today, while the show is still in Broadway previews, that their score for An American in Paris will get a cast album.

The show is set to open April 12. Masterworks Broadway will bring the cast into the studio to record the cast album April 20, for a June 2 release.

The score includes classic Gershwin songs “I Got Rhythm,” “Liza,” “’S Wonderful,” “But Not For Me,” “I’ll Build a Stairway to Paradise,” and orchestral music including “Concerto in F,” “Second Prelude,” “Second Rhapsody/Cuban Overture” and “An American In Paris.”

The CD will preserve the performances of Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan, Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin, Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Brandon Uranowitz as Adam Hochberg, Max von Essen as Henri Baurel and the rest of the ensemble.
