An Evening with Stephen Schwartz is being presented by The Theatre Project/SCV, the new professional theatre company located in California's Santa Clarita Valley. The evening is scheduled to include tunes from both Schwartz's Broadway scores and his catalogue of movie tunes. Show time is 7:30 PM. Those scheduled to perform Schwartz's tunes include Tony Award winner Ben Vereen, Corbin Bleu, Nita Whitaker, Christa Jackson, Victoria Oscar, Julia Gregory and Michael Leon Wooley. The singers will be backed by a 24-voice chorus under the direction of Steven Jones.

Stephen Schwartz, a Dramatists Guild council member, composed the scores for Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, The Magic Show, Rags, The Baker's Wife and Children of Eden. He has also written for several film musicals, including "Pocahontas," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "The Prince of Egypt" and the TV musical "Geppetto." His solo CDs of new songs are titled "Reluctant Pilgrim" and "Uncharted Territory." Schwartz is the recipient of three Academy Awards, three Grammy Awards and three Drama Desk Awards. Wicked currently plays Broadway's Gershwin Theatre.
