Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie and Tony nominee Andrea McArdle are set to bring their latest nightclub act, Hamlisch and Sondheim, to Feinstein’s/54 Below on New Year’s Day. The five-performance engagement runs January 1–5, 2019, with show times at 7 PM.
McArdle and McKechnie debuted the show last spring.
Opening with Sondheim’s “Another Hundred People” from Company, the Broadway favorites take the audience on a musical journey as they share personal stories and songs.
Other shows represented in this evening include A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, A Chorus Line, Follies, A Little Night Music, and They’re Playing Our Song. Also expect songs from films including The Way We Were, Ice Castles, and The Entertainer.
McArdle, who originated the title role in the musical Annie in 1977, has starred in Broadway productions of Jerry’s Girls, Starlight Express, State Fair, Les Misérables, and Beauty and the Beast. McKechnie won the 1976 Tony for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Cassie in A Chorus Line, and appeared in Broadway productions including Company, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, On The Town, The Visit, and with McArdle in State Fair.
