As previously announced, Mark Wing-Davey will stage the work Off-Broadway at The Public Theater's LuEsther Hall. Previews have been set to start Feb. 7, 2008, toward a Feb. 18 opening night. The limited run is slated through March 2.
From the LAB vet who penned Guinea Pig Solo comes a new play in which "nine New York stories converge in a racially and sexually charged tale of rage, love, justice and betrayal."
The cast will feature LAByrinth company members Chris Chalk (The Overwhelming), Trevor Long (Defiance) and Elizabeth Rodriguez (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot) as well as Chlumsky, Forsythe ("American Me," "Once Upon a Time in America"), Geer (Twelve Angry Men, Side Man) and stage newcomer Ross ("Shortbus," "I'm Not There"). Full casting will be announced shortly.
Chlumsky — known for her film work in "Uncle Buck" and "My Girl" — has taken to the stage in recent years, having appeared in Measure for Measure, Darwin in Malibu, Half Life, The Butcherhouse Chronicles and most recently in Off-Broadway's Fabulous Life of a Size Zero.
The design team will feature Mark Wendland (set), Mimi O'Donnell (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lighting) and Bart Fasbender (sound). The production will be staged in the round, and pricing for the show will be tiered.
