"Chasing The Green Light" is the inaugural event in the new Public Forum series, which explores issues related to works presented at the Public Theater. The evening dovetails with the Elevator Repair Service production of Gatz, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby."

Sam Waterson, who appeared as Nick Carraway in the film of "The Great Gatsby," hosts the evening dedicated to F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic novel, the author's personal life and the current state of the American dream.

Jeremy McCarter curates the evening that includes a roundtable discussion with Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson composer and lyricist Michael Friedman; "Bright Lights, Big City" author Jay McInerney; Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog playwright Suzan-Lori Parks; and "Gossip Girl" writer Cecily von Ziegesar.

The event also includes a discussion with Huffington Post editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington and National Review contributor Reihan Salam. 

Hathaway ("Rachel Getting Married," "Princess Diaries") concludes the 90-minute evening with a performance of a letter from Zelda Fitzgerald to her husband.
