News Anne Hathaway Slated to Star in New Thriller Academy Award-winning "Les Misérables" star Anne Hathaway is in talks to star in the film "The Burning Woman," a drama thriller about a woman whose teenage daughter goes missing and is left to raise her grandson alone, according to Deadline.com.

Screenwriter Brad Inglesby ("Out of the Furnace") wrote the script with Hathaway in mind for the lead role, who read it and became attached. Set in a small, blue-collar town in Pennsylvania, the film follows the mother's trials and tribulations over a period of 11 years.

Scott Free, Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer and Michael Pruss are set to produce.

As previously reported on Playbill.com, Hathaway will star in the award-winning one-woman play Grounded by George Brant. Directed by Julie Taymor at the Public Theater in April, the play will mark the actress' return to Off-Broadway since 2009.
